Amen. To all of this. So much of what we read/share here isn’t at all “necessary,” so to speak. It’s not purely informational. It’s more… conversational, I guess. Rumours and opinions and predictions. Stories, analyses. It’s not like we don’t value credibility or other journalistic standards. But honestly the thing I’m looking for most is just something actually interesting, told in an interesting way.

For contrast, I won’t care at all about this stuff when I’m actually looking for information. I’ll scan through your wit and your drama and simply extract the info I need at the time. It’s a very different process.
