I believe AI might very well become indistinguishable from real art in terms of technique. What a lot of people in the comments are missing here is that the first and foremost goal of any art is communication. Is there a mood being conveyed? Is there a story, an insight? Artists use technique consciously, as an instrument to deliver a message or an emotion. The current iteration of ‘AI’ is not even attempting to do that
