I never really loved (or hated) alcohol, but I do have an ongoing 10-year relationship with nicotine. Switching to vape has been a massive improvement, but it's still there. After multiple attempts to quit I came to a conclusion that besides the addiction (which is very real) there's also a huuuuge element of general lifestyle/taking care of your needs. Like, it's not enough to just quit, you have to become the person who doesn't need the dopamine hit - by getting it from somewhere else (hopefully, somwhere healthier)
