This is interesting. I tried your prompt, and it did give me very believable stories. Like, I can imagine being them excerpts from a book.
BUT. I think there's something else going on here. AI is really hard to spot in short sentences/paragraphs. Something that doesn't really require a lot of context/thought/meaning, or whatever the hell it is that it's missing.
Whenever you try to give it a more substantial task, like an article, it just falls apart. It just becomes a lot more visible that you're reading something without any purpose, something dry and mechanical.
I'm guessing that's why Medium's been pretty immune to this, whereas Twitter has already seen an onslaught of weaponized AI-tweets
