Yeah, well, my problem with AI is that it doesn't really understand what it's doing. Like, anyone enough time and motivation can reproduce a Van Gogh painting, or even paint something original that looks like a Van Gogh painting.

But to really understand what made it special in the first place..? Does AI really understand how this color here offsets that shape over there..? How this negative space here balances out that overcrowded corner over there..? AI may mimic the style of an artist, sure, but without real understanding, it cannot reliably dive into things that move and stimulate people, like contrast, shape, balance, subject matter, etc.

And style? Style is just a signature. Every writer has a style. Doesn't make them a good writer.
